Iris

Iris (2016) / Installation / single-channel video, silicone, synthetic fibers / 18 × 25 × 30 cm / current pedestal 120 × 200 × 59 cm + glass vitrine 27 cm

About / An elderly face screens a continuous flow of fireworks in the irises of its eyes. The work is influenced by optography, a debunked method of retrieving the images fixed in the eye’s retina, as well as the idea that the last thing that you lose is the sparkle in your eyes.
